The ramps being super obvious, the driver hidden behind or in the front seat (which I think it is part of the reason for that upholstery mistake with someone not bothering fixing it between shots) or in the front seat, hub caps flying off and just a lot of stuff they didn't worry about back then. Like with the early 90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies it's been super noticeable since DVD releases of these shows that allow you to watch on demand and pause without distortion. You can see roll cages and dummies in stunt cars. Second of all, since digital effects didn't exist, and masking would be too expensive and time consuming, the HD scan of the show makes the show its own "behind the scenes - how we made this" video. All but 5 were destroyed when filming was complete. They apparently used 23 cars in the series, and all but 1 of the cars survived filming. There's a very visible front tow bar under KITT's nose on nearly every shot of the car. This image quality makes some things apparent. Here's the thing, though, they scanned the original film in HD! It's still 4:3 aspect ratio, but the image quality is superb. I started watching the show again for a laugh on Netflix. Who didn't, if you were a kid in the 80's? The show was just an excuse to do multiple dangerous car stunts per episode! The (nearly non-existent) plot was just a vehicle for the driving and stunts.
